Pain and ageing have many faces.

Animals cannot put their suffering into words. They show it in subtle changes — in the way they move, in their behaviour, in the way they withdraw or no longer want to participate.

Recognising these signs, understanding them correctly, and taking them seriously is, to me, at the heart of good veterinary medicine. I support dogs, cats, and the people who care for them in the fields of pain medicine and geriatrics — with medical depth and a view of the whole animal.

I believe this is where our responsibility begins.

My aim is to understand the bigger picture, not just treat symptoms — and to preserve quality of life for as long as possible.

A part of my work has been written down — as a book.

Osteoarthritis in Dogs | Kosmos Publishing

Osteoarthritis is one of the most common causes of chronic pain in dogs.

It is a chronic degenerative disease — not curable, but in many cases very manageable.

What is often missing is an understanding of what is happening inside the body — and how much can actually be done to help.

I wrote this book because I wanted to make exactly that more accessible: knowledge that explains connections, reduces uncertainty, and shows that osteoarthritis does not necessarily mean suffering.

Dogs with osteoarthritis can still live good, fulfilling lives — if we understand how to support them.

My Work

My work is shaped by what my patients and their people need — and by the belief that good pain medicine begins with paying close attention.

Clinical Work

Small animal medicine with a focus on pain, osteoarthritis, and geriatric patients. Structured diagnostics, individual therapy, and long-term support.

Home Visits

Treatment in a familiar environment — with more time, more calm, and a more nuanced view of the animal in everyday life.

Digital Veterinary Advice

Helping dog people understand findings, reduce uncertainty, and make informed decisions — from home.

Education

Courses, resources, and projects designed to make complex connections easier to understand and support confident decision-making.

About me

Nearly two decades of clinical and practice experience — from neurology at the university hospital to emergency medicine, referral clinic, and first-opinion care, through to my own work with chronic pain patients and geriatric animals.

These experiences have shaped the way I work: looking closely, trying to understand the bigger picture, and treating more than just symptoms.
