About me

Many of the questions that interest me most do not have simple answers.

They sit at the intersection of pain, ageing, quality of life, animal welfare, and the relationship between animals and the people who care for them.

My journey began in veterinary neurology — both in clinical work and research — and later took me through different areas of small animal medicine: from multidisciplinary work and emergency medicine in a large referral hospital, Tierklinik Oberhaching, to first-opinion practice and running my own practice.

Each of these stages has shaped the way I think: sharpening my perspective on complexity, on connections, and on what may lie beneath a symptom.

What I focus on today

Today, I work primarily with dogs and cats experiencing chronic pain, osteoarthritis, age-related changes, and the challenges that can come with later life and end-of-life care.

What interests me is not only the condition itself, but also how it shapes everyday life, behaviour, relationships, and quality of life.

Alongside my clinical work, I also work as Head Vet Germany at Agria Vet Guide — a digital veterinary guidance service designed to help pet owners find orientation, navigate uncertainty, and make informed decisions for the animals in their care.

In addition, I work with the Agria Breed Profiles — breed-specific health data drawn from one of the world’s largest databases of animal health information, helping us better understand broader patterns in canine health.

My work centers around the question:

How can I help animals live better lives?

For me, the answer often begins with helping people find orientation — making connections visible and supporting them in making thoughtful decisions for the animals in their care.
