About me<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

I am a veterinarian whose focus has evolved over many years: supporting dogs and cats living with chronic pain, ageing, and end-of-life care.\nMy path has taken me through many different areas of veterinary medicine \u2014 from neurology at the university hospital to emergency medicine, referral practice, and first-opinion small animal care.<\/p>

Each of these experiences has shaped the way I see medicine: with an awareness of complexity, of connections, and of what may lie behind a symptom.<\/p>

Today, I work clinically in small animal practice, provide online consultations, and lead a team of veterinarians within an international pet insurance setting. Alongside this, I am interested in questions of population-based animal health, including responsible breeding and canine health.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

My perspective on pain<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Pain is rarely an isolated problem.\nIt changes the body, behaviour, and everyday life of an animal \u2014 often quietly, often unnoticed for a long time.<\/p>

For me, this is where good medicine begins: not with the symptom itself, but with understanding what lies behind it.<\/p>

My aim is to recognise changes early, understand them in context, and find approaches that remain sustainable over time \u2014 for the animal and for the people who care for it.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Animals cannot communicate their pain verbally.<\/p>

They show it in other ways \u2014 often quietly, often unspecifically, and often unnoticed for a long time. Pain is not just a physical problem; it changes behaviour, relationships, and quality of life.<\/p>

A central part of my work is looking closely, recognising patterns and connections, and giving these animals a voice.<\/p>

For me, this responsibility does not end with individual treatment. It also touches on broader questions of animal welfare, ethics, and our relationship with patients who cannot speak for themselves. In the future, I hope to deepen this perspective further through academic work.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
